Here you’ll find more luxury and space than most of the hotels in Kathmandu can offer. It’s that place where you can relax in the garden after visiting attractions in Kathmandu. The room and bathroom are beautiful and spacious. With many taxis it’s easy to access. You can also walk easily from the hotel to the monkey temple. Although there are restaurants around, the food of the Hotel was surprisingly good! Besides the breakfast, the salads are delicious and I loved the homemade mint juice, fresh tea pots and the momos. We also received a delicious breakfast for takeaway for our early flight and we were surprised the transfer from hotel to airport was already arranged for free. You can see and feel the owners created this hotel with love and attention for detail. I look forward to returning on my next trip!Posted onVerified An Tibetan oasis of calm My wife is a Nepali and we are regular visitors to Kathmandu, we were recommended this excellent hotel by relatives who live in nearby Swayambhu. This is the second time we have stayed at Uma Residencies and we have been very happy on both occasions. The on-site hosts take a personal interest in the running of all the guest amenities and the staff are attentive and efficient. The location is a real oasis of calm away from the main tourist areas but Kathmandu city accessible by taxi in twenty minutes, and in the case of Swayambhunath Stupah (Monkey Temple) accessible on foot. Our room was tastefully decorated in Tibetan style, and all the faculties were clean and comfortable. The swimming pool was ambient but to me as Brit very refreshing particularly after a hot and dusty day out. The meals are all fresh cooked and ordered al la carte, are of excellent quality and the prices are very reasonable. There are also a good range of cold bottled beers and hot refreshments, with speciality blue pea tea and my favourite Nepali Barahsinghe beer (see photo). Local walks are accessible from the hotel gate including the uphill trek up to the nearby Single Tree hill top with the best vantage point to witness outstanding views of the Kathmandu valley. The area is safe to walk by day and at night, and is suitable for running or jogging around the local neighbourhood, taking the usual care with regard to traffic. The hotel backs onto an arable field and market garden where every morning we saw a white-throated kingfisher 'fishing' for frogs and small mammals. Very close from the busy KTM, but still very quiet and peaceful. If u want to stay close to the downtown but still want some peace time when u are at the residence, this is your place. I loved the tree top view point.Posted onVerified Arriving in an oasis of Peace and Harmony We stayed 10 days in Uma residence and everything was absolutely perfect. Really wunderful and harmonious atmosphere with a beatutiful garden and spacious and nice rooms with a smooth and natural touch. Beds and cussions have a big comfort so that we could sleep really good! The whole residence is very clean and situated in a quiet and save area from Kathmandu. Food is also delicious and available whole day. Tenzin and Lobsang the owner of the hotel are non stop available and supporting in really everything what we needed. It could not be better and we appreciate a lot everything! We can highly recomand the Uma residence !!

Das ist wirklich das Einzige, was mir einfällt. Für mich war das herrlich, denn das Viertel ist wirklich ruhig und angenehm, und so kann man nach einem turbulenten Tag mit viel Sightseeing perfekt entspannen.
