
Tergar Osel Ling Monastery
Tergar Osel Ling Monastery is one of the most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in Nepal and serves as the spiritual headquarters of the global Tergar community led by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche. It is located in Swoyambhu Kathmandu, on a hill overlooking the valley.

- The monastery is the residence and principal seat of Mingyur Rinpoche, one of the world’s most respected contemporary meditation masters in the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. Students from around the world come here to study and practice under his guidance.
- Unlike many monasteries that focus primarily on rituals, Tergar places strong emphasis on both meditation practice and philosophical study. The monastery’s Shedra (monastic college) offers a comprehensive 13-year curriculum covering Buddhist philosophy, logic, ethics, meditation, and classical texts.
