A Second
Home
Uma Residence & Suites is a family-run boutique hotel, built from the ground up by Lobsang and Tenzin Dolkar.
What started as a shared passion project for the couple, born out of the simple joy of hosting guests in their first Airbnb, slowly grew into a dream to create a larger, dedicated space for travelers.
The moment you step through the doors, it doesn’t feel like checking into a hotel; it feels like arriving home. Every corner of the property has been thoughtfully curated by the family, with the hope of providing a gentle, peaceful sanctuary.

Adding in
The Family Touch
Lobsang, a designer with decades of expertise in hand-knotted Tibetan rugs. Every piece of custom furniture and lighting was carefully sourced from local artisans across Kathmandu.
Tenzin brings the soul to Uma Residence. From ensuring every guest eats and sleeps well, to brewing homegrown guava leaf tea for an upset stomach, her care is felt everywhere. There is a reason why our guest mention her by name in their reviews.

Nature Delivered Signage for Uma
Boutique family owned hotel. Great position out of the hustle and bustle of Thamel. I highlyrecommend it if you are visiting Kathmandu.
The Slow,
Sustainable Life
We care for our guests and the planet equally. Tenzin brings her passion for community from her role on the Board of Directors for Drokpo Nepal. Uma Residence is a plastic-free space where we offer complimentary, refillable glass water bottles, bamboo toothbrush & reusable cloth hand towels.
We grow our own seasonal fruits and herbs in our kitchen garden, sourcing our ingredients from local organic farmers. It is our way of ensuring you eat, drink, and live well during your stay.
